For parents and schools
Life-Ready Society is a free website of short, practical life-skills lessons for young people aged 15 to 19, written for the GCC with a global outlook. It covers the skills school rarely teaches: manners and friendships, staying safe, first aid, cooking, money, emotions, study, careers, running a home and moving out.
There are 58 modules and 503 lessons, grouped into eight dimensions of wellness: Social, Physical, Financial, Emotional, Intellectual, Occupational, Environmental and Spiritual.
What a lesson looks like
- Short sections of clear points, taking about 12 minutes on average.
- Real-life practice tasks to try at home, at school or out with friends, which the learner can tick off.
- Key points to remember and a short multiple-choice quiz. Scoring 80% or more completes the lesson, and missed questions come back in Review.
- A list of sources with links at the end of every lesson.
Lessons can be read aloud by the browser and printed as a cheat sheet. The moving-out checklist gathers the practice tasks for leaving home on one printable page.
How lessons are written and checked
Each lesson is researched from named sources, listed with links at the end of the lesson. We prefer official and long-established authorities: government portals, national health services, recognised etiquette authorities and cultural institutions. Every module is independently fact-checked before it is published. Where sources disagree, or where rules may have changed, the lesson says so in a note. Read more about our sources.
Lessons are general guidance, not legal, medical or financial advice. Anyone can use the “Report a mistake” button on a lesson to tell us about an error.
Age range and accounts
The lessons are written for ages 15 to 19. Nobody needs an account to read lessons or take quizzes; progress is then kept only in that browser. A free account is optional and keeps progress on every device. Account holders must be 13 or older, and we ask under-18s to check with a parent or guardian before creating one.
Safety and wellbeing
Some lessons cover sensitive subjects, such as mental health, personal safety, first aid and scams. They encourage young people to talk to a trusted adult, such as a parent, teacher or school counsellor, and give UAE emergency numbers and support lines where relevant. See the Mental health module, including the lesson In a crisis: what to do if someone is in immediate danger.
Life-Ready Society is not a crisis or counselling service, and it has no messaging or chat between users. If someone is in immediate danger in the UAE, call 999 for the police or 998 for an ambulance. Elsewhere, call your local emergency number.

- Without an account, progress stays in the browser on that device and is not sent to us.

- We count page views by page address and date only, without names, email addresses or cookies.
- We do not sell information or share it with other organisations, apart from the service providers that run the site.
- Members can delete their account and saved progress at any time.
